A couple of housekeeping items first:
Yes the meetings will always be on the 3rd Thursday of the month, unfortunately there wasn't a day of the week that didn't have conflicts for people. I hope as we grow in size and interest that we will also gather for projects and such on other days. Videoman and I will try to keep information current and post project information on the website. I wont be adding a mailing list or other nifty tools until I move to new hardware, but will let you know as new features are added.
Second, yesterday I sent out an e-mail to as many people as I could think of to remind them that the meeting was last night. This was purely for courtesy, as I explained in August all future meetings will be the same time every month (the 3rd Thursday). I will be tapering down the emails I send out since this is the permanent schedule. You should verify the location via the website each month, but I think at this point it will be Broadway Pizza.
For those of you who are familiar with user group meetings, this is the standard.
A note on Broadway Pizza:
We were downstairs in the green room at Broadway Pizza last night and that worked out very well. The space is private, we had waitstaff, and a wall to project onto. A couple of things to note, the wall is not white so we are working on some type of screen. The projector is borrowed so that could become an issue in the future. Broadway pizza has minimum food and bevarage charge of $200 otherwise we pay $50 for the room. I am willing to cover some of this as we grow, I think it will only take a couple meetings and we should naturally make the minimum. Just remember to have a beer or soda with that pizza.
