So we went and scoped out Village Wok on a suggestion that they may have a good area, but unfortunatly this did not work out so well as we could not reserve tables or the back area...

So were shooting for 6pm @ Mill City Cafe, if it's nice we will sit in the outdoor area. It has plenty of seating, and free parking for those that drive.

Well DefCon is around the corner...

And it has been a very busy summer, so were are hoping to do a meeting in August for post DefCon annoucments and lock picking fun.

Our next meeting with be on, as you may have guessed lock picking, and the DC14 talks. We will bring some tools, and other goodies that we pickup for those who were unable to attend.


The meeting date will be August 24th@6pm, and going forward we will make it the 4th thursday of every month.


I hope eveyone who get's to go to DefCon will have some fun learing the new stuff, it should be a really amazing year!

(and if you do make it, and can or can't get on the network, let us know...)

We have picked a main topic for out next meeting, LockPicking, this should be a fun one.

Heather and I are going to put togother a lock board for the next meeting, so everyone bring thier bump keys!

Heather and I will be Presenting to the MN-ISSA group Tuesday March 21st about the what happend at last years DEFCON 13, and the network infurstructure behind it. We hope to see you there!



As for DC612 meetings, we would like to host it at a local brewery(we like a good pint now and then), the first place that comes to mind is Town Hall Brewery. They have a resturant, and serve food as well as beer, so it's not just a bar, meaning that if your under 21 you should beable to attend. We will of course check on this.


We will announce the final meeting place and time at the next MN-ISSA meeting. And maybe by then I'll have a mailing list manager setup.

This technology has been around for years. Is it about time for people to expolore it?

This is a neat site on how to build a mag stripe card emulation device. This reminds me of all of the spy movies where they have a card hooked up to a calculator, and the "door", or what ever access control that is in the way just magicly opens.
